About Us

Fayette County’s 2010 census population was 295,803 with a total of 187,820 registered voters.  Of the registered voters 100,655 were registered democrats.  There are 292 precincts, six full and 4 partial legislative districts, and two full and three partial senatorial districts in Fayette County.  We are in the 6th Congressional District.

Background

Precinct, Legislative District and County Conventions are held in presidential election years for registered Fayette County Democrats to run for and be elected to leadership positions.  Key to this process is the election of the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee is charged with conducting all business of the Democratic Party in Fayette County. The FCDP Executive Committee raises and disburses funds, promotes the election of Democrats to office, provides political information and effective public relations on the underlying principles of the Democratic Party, conducts County and Legislative Conventions, and works to increase the membership of the Fayette County Democratic Party.
